Fit to Drive

8th International Traffic Expert Congress

on May 8th and 9th, 2014 Warsaw

Every road user is a single individual and at the same time part of the complex system road traffic. Traffic participants and road traffic causally determine each other, and different external factors have a strong impact on both of them. The outcome of this correlation is the individual Fitness to Drive, which is ever since subject of the presentations given at the German Association of Technical Inspection Agencies (VdTÜV e.V.) congress series Fit to Drive.

In accordance with the device Reality and Vision - Common problems, European solutions , European traffic experts regularly get together in order to develop common solutions for better road safety. Since 2006, safety of the individual mobility is in the focus of these working committees.

Behaviour, emotions, cognition, habits and the performances of the drivers are the key aspects of the Fit to Drive program and will be assessed once again at the 8th congress to be held in Warsaw, Poland, from 08 to 09 May, 2014. But this time the individual parameters will be discussed in the context of *) social structures,*) interpersonal communication, *) infrastructure and *) vehicle or transport mode features. Within these topic groups, international experts will present current state-of-the-art of science and technology and will share their specific experiences from their day to day working routine.

By promoting the congress series Fit to Drive, the VdTÜV is actively involved in the European Road Safety Charter. This congress presents a continuous platform to share the latest international developments in the road traffic system and therefore, indirectly, contributes to decreasing accidents and fatalities in road traffic.
